Capital District Youth Lacrosse

Lacrosse is growing and the Capital District is looking for individuals (male or female) interested in becoming a Boys Lacrosse Official to support the 2010 season. Officiating is an excellent opportunity to support the sport, earn extra cash, and enjoy some fresh air and exercise! Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Previous lacrosse experience as a player, coach, or informed spectator is encouraged but not required.

New Officials will typically work Youth, Freshman, and JV games initially and are paired with an experienced Official so they can learn and gain experience.

Earning potential: Officials earn $52/game to start at the Freshman/JV level. 2 to 3 games per week are easily obtainable in your local area. Weekday games typically start at 4:00 to 4:30. Youth Round Robin tournaments with 2 (or more) game opportunities are on Saturdays. Officials arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the game, which typically last 2 hours in duration. The flexible schedule and earning potential is idea for college students, part time workers, educators, etc. Recommend someone today to join the officiating team!

Startup Expenses: The fee for the new member training is $50. All officials are required to be properly equipped (shirt, hat, shorts, socks, flags, whistle, and timer). Starter packages can be purchased online.

US Lacrosse Rebate: The Adirondack Chapter of US Lacrosse will provide stipends of up to $150 per new member, to offset partial officiating equipment purchases and the training. New members must successfully complete a minimum combination of 6 games and/or youth round robin tournaments by the end of the season to qualify for the stipend.
